Mall of America

Normally we only visit the Mall of America just once a year and call it good…somehow we have been three times already this year. Sometimes with kids, and other times without kids. Here are our top recommendations of things to do…and the things to stay away from.

With Kids

Do

Attend on Toddler Tuesday to get wristbands for $14.99! (and don’t forget to snag these deals!)

Check out the new 3rd Floor North Food Court for:

  • Chick Fil A

  • Ichiddo Ramen

  • Juicebox (a juice bar)

  • Naf Naf Grill (Mediterranean)

  • Poukei (Poke Bowls)

  • and more!

Check out the events page to find free events like…

  • Twiggy the water skiing squirrel (June 7-9)

  • FREE Lego Frame to build and take home from the Lego Store (June 9)

Visit the Legacy Toy store for their fun floor tiles.

Visit the SEA LIFE Aquarium … once…not on the weekend. (We are a little biased and prefer the Minnesota Zoo…but I digress)

DON’T

Bring your biggest stroller. Especially if you want to get into the play area at the Lego store. If you’re going during a slow time, sure. Bring it. But if you can avoid it, do. Navigating crowds with your tank isn’t fun.

Let’s say you take my advice and skip your stroller and your toddler proves me wrong…you can rent one at the entrances for $9. Boom.

Just Adults

Do

Try Cedar + Stone, Urban Table for an appetizer and craft cocktail. We had some time to kill before an event at the Marriott next door and popped in for a fancy snack and it did not disappoint. The food was definitely not “mall food” and the craft cocktails weren’t something you’re going to find at Bubba Gumps, either. It was PRICEY, though. So if you’re on a budget maybe try something else.

Check out the list of attractions before you go!

Blacklight Mini Golf

  • Great Big Game Show

  • Amazing Mirror Maze

  • Escape Rooms

  • Axe Throwing

Do Compare Attractions

There are a few things we’ve tried that just felt more expensive than they were worth for us. For example, the Museum of Illusions sounded fun in theory, and we’d seen plenty of cool photos from other couples, but it fell flat for us. At $24 per person for about 15-20 minutes of walk through time we wished we had done the Mirror Maze for $9.95/person instead.
